Infringement

Infringement is the act of violating a law or right, and with respect to intellectual property, it is the act of using another’s protected intellectual property without permission. Under US intellectual property law, infringement does not have to be intentional to create liability. Someone can be liable for infringing on intellectual property even if they are unaware the property is protected or even if they believe their use is not an infringement.
